With just three weeks left for polling, the election fever in Telangana has reached a feverish pitch, and punters in Andhra Pradesh, especially in East and West Godavari districts, are putting their money on the high-stake battle.
Even before the nomination process began on November 3, betting on the Telangana elections had already commenced, with stakes constantly changing as various survey reports and predictions emerge. It’s reported that crores of rupees are being exchanged in betting rings and among punters in Bhimavaram and Narsapuram areas.
Currently, the punters and betting rings are favoring the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Despite the perception that the Congress is putting up a tough fight, the general sentiment among the people of Andhra is that KCR will likely be re-elected for a third consecutive term.
As of Wednesday, the odds are 60:40 in favor of the BRS, with predictions of them securing 56-61 seats, while the Congress may obtain 47-52 seats. Interestingly, there are no takers for the Bharatiya Janata Party at the moment.
Predictions and stakes are constantly changing, and it is anticipated that as the polling day draws near, there could be significant shifts in the betting trends.
In addition to the Telangana elections, betting gangs are also putting their money on the upcoming elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram. In Rajasthan, the odds are in favor of the BJP, while in Madhya Pradesh, it’s expected to be a close battle between the Congress and the BJP.
Looking ahead to the general elections to the Lok Sabha and the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, the predictions for the BJP at the national level and the YSR Congress party in Andhra are already being speculated upon by betting operators in the Godavari districts.
As the elections draw closer, it is expected that there will be further changes in predictions and stakes placed by betting operators on the political parties.
